Canada Water West Residents Action Group has been representing residents on the western edge of the Canada Water Masterplan development site since 2015. We are campaigning to ensure that the existing community is not ignored by the developers and Southwark Council.
Having won a major battle to save the ‘Ada’s Garden’ wildlife area, we are now calling for the following from those shaping our area:
A Canada Water Masterplan that works for the people of SE16
We, the current residents of Canada Water call on British Land and Southwark Council to respect our needs in the future redevelopment of Canada Water:
- Building heights should be limited to the current tallest building in the area – Ontario Point (87m).
- Any new buildings on or adjoining Lower Road should be limited to 4 storeys (the height of Orchard House).
- A clear and detailed plan should be provided for all parts of the Masterplan site adjoining existing homes.
- The option to maintain the Seven Islands leisure centre must be immediately consulted on.
